Apples and Paper Boat

£695.00

Represented by AA London Gallery + Cowes Gallery, Isle of Wight, UK.

Artwork Statement:

This tells my story of where I am currently in life.

The two apples falling away represent my children leaving home. The lonely apple is me. Left on the shelf.

A paper boat, as I don’t sail. The goldfish who constantly sees the sea but never actually gets to go in. I now rarely drink but still see it as an important social element. The bird wondering how to fly and the plant needing to grow in a different way now.

And of course if anyone knows who Bob Ross is.. There’s a happy little cloud :)

There’s an obvious nod to Rene Magritte, especially as his pieces also had a narrative element that wasn’t always obvious to the viewer.
